General FAQs
How Do I Get Started?
The first step is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
During the consultation, we can learn more about your child's communication, answer your questions, discuss available services, and help determine whether an evaluation or therapy may be appropriate.
Do You Accept Insurance For Home Visits?
Yes. We offer services for families using health insurance benefits, as well as San Diego Regional Center and private-pay options.
Insurance coverage and benefits vary by plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your speech and language therapy benefits and any authorization or referral requirements.
If you have questions about using your insurance for services through The Little Years, please contact us and we can help you understand the next steps.
Do you provide services through the San Diego Regional Center?
Yes. The Little Years provide early intervention services for eligible children through the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC).
If you would like to request The Little Years as your service provider, please provide your Service Coordinator with our Service Provider Number: PY4766
Services are designed to support communication and development within meaningful routines and natural environments.

Do You Provide Bilingual Therapy in Both English and Spanish?
Yes. We provide speech and language services in English, Spanish, or both, depending on each child's communication needs and the family's preferences.
We recognize that bilingual children may use different languages with different people and in different environments. Our approach considers the child's complete linguistic and cultural background rather than viewing bilingualism as a barrier to communication.
What Ages Do You Serve?
We provide pediatric speech and language services for children ages 2–10, supporting their communication development from the early years through childhood and school-aged years.
Services are individualized based on the child's communication needs, developmental stage, and family goals.
Where Do Evaluations & Therapy Sessions Take Place?
Home & Natural Environments: Therapy may take place in your child's home or another appropriate natural environment, where communication naturally occurs within everyday routines and activities.
Other Community Settings: When appropriate and with facility approval, services may be provided in settings such as daycares, schools, or other community environments.
We currently serve families throughout Chula Vista and surrounding South County communities.
Teletherapy (California Residents): Virtual parent coaching and speech-language support may be available when appropriate.
